poorly rehidden boxes

From: A Balaam (adriajb@verizon.net) | Date: 2006-08-13 19:24:55 UTC
I, too, ran across a poorly rehidden box today. Or should I say not
hidden at all. It was packed alright, but the bags were starting to
rip and the cover no longer snapped on tight to the container. This
being my first time I didn't come quite prepared with extras baggies
and such, but i did try to make it a little less noticable and since
it is right down the street from my house, I was planning on stopping
on my way home from work tomorrow to replace the bags and completely
cover it up.
I noticed the last person in the book was a little kid as well. I
took my four year old with me and sent her scavenging for rocks and
twigs to recover boxes. Thanks for all the fun, we can't wait to go
again, Adria

Yesterday I ran into the same thing. The boxes were put back ok, but
many of the Ziplocs were not resealed. They were just thrown back in
the container. The planted really carved some nice stamps and had them
all wrapped in a velvet material to keep them in good shape. The
planter went through so much trouble to hide the boxes; it is not too
much to ask to make sure that they are placed back in as good or
better shape than they were before you found them. I always carry
Ziplocs to help is one is ripped. Boxers need to look out for one
another.

Thanks,

Baker

I keep thinking that writing on the bags will also help. "Logbook
Outer" and "Logbook Inner" and same for the stamp would encourage
people to put things back correctly and not accidentally stick the
logbook into a very inky bag.

It's too bad boxes can't have the same thing as the envelopes for
bills: "Did you put the right items into the right bags? Did you
seal each bag securely? Did you get the lid to the box firmly
sealed?"

You know, at the end of all this discussion, what this rehiding boxes
issue really all comes down to is this:

Respect.
